FutureFeed welcomes new licensee - the F&W Group

Seaweed Industry South Korea

FutureFeed welcomes the first South Korean based licensee company, F&W Group to enter the emerging global Asparagopsis seaweed industry providing a tangible way for red meat & dairy producers to mitigate their contribution to global warming. The red seaweed, native to Australia, can reduce methane emissions by 80 per cent when included in ruminant livestock feed.

F&W Group are based in the Wando region, South Korea, a region known as a seaweed Industry Centre of Excellence.

For centuries, Korea has developed world-class seaweed farming capabilities, and Wando has been at the heart of this journey.
Built upon more than 400 years of accumulated aquaculture knowledge, Wando offers:

Wando region boasts a mature industrial seaweed ecosystem that is ready to support the next generation of seaweed innovation. F&W have levered this and led the development of integrating Asparagopsis cultivation with this existing industry base.

Thanks to the efforts of its licensees, FutureFeed is commercialising the use of Asparagopsis as a livestock feed ingredient. FutureFeed’s licences provide livestock market access for Asparagopsis producers and ensure the technology is rolled out in a safe and sustainable way for the benefit of the planet.
