FutureFeed welcomes new CEO Alex Baker

FutureFeed is delighted to welcome Alex Baker as its new CEO. Mr. Baker brings a wealth of commercialisation experience in biotechnology and the bioeconomy.

With a career spanning 30 years, he has significant private and public company experience holding a range of C-suite positions including managing director. His seasoned knowledge across technology management and commercialisation, stakeholder engagement and business development will be key in progressing the FutureFeed business through furthering development, adoption and scaling of our deep technological foundations.

FutureFeed was established by CSIRO to commercialise the discovery that small amounts of Asparagopsis seaweed in livestock feed can reduce methane emissions by 80% or more. FutureFeed licenses Asparagopsis growers around the world, which provides them with livestock market access.

“I’m looking forward to leading the company forward to reach the profound impact that Asparagopsis methane reduction technology holds for our people, our animals and planet,” Mr Baker said.

“With Asparagopsis as one of the most powerful enteric methane reduction solutions available, scaling FutureFeed’s work is vital in order to counter the effects of the global climate problem.”
